Last Thursday BCC yesterday approved this Development Application of a scrapyard on Sherwood Road right next to Oxley Creek.
What this highlights is the deficiency in the State Government Legislation which allows new DA's to be submitted against the old neighbourhood plans for a period of 2 years - if council had fought this DA, they most probably would have lost in a subsequent court case.
It WTSAG's opinion only existing DA's within the system prior to the new plans should be allowed. Please lobby your local MP and state candidates to get the planning laws changed.
Read and comment about the proposed Metal Scrap Yard on our website including contact details for your state government political representatives.
We have also published various letters sent my Cr. Nicole Johnston and Lord Mayor Graham Quirk with regard to the state government sale of the Chelmer TAFE.
A reminder also that Cr. Matthew Bourke is seeking feedback on the proposed subdivision of Montrose Access in Corinda (also affected by the State Government 2 year old planning rules).

NB: We are still awaiting a response from Cr. Julian Simmonds from November on the release of the Oxley Creek flood study for our area which ruled out the Kennard Street bikeway bridge.
